Tuesday Tunes – Showcasing Talent out of our Boulder Studio

The psychedelic semi-animated music video for 'Sea of Knives' emerges as the latest result of a longtime collaboration between Brice Woodall and artist/director Trevor Bittinger (one of our Digital Artists), who also performs on the track.
Since the beginning of Woodall's career, Bittinger has been the sole force behind the visuals that accompany the songwriter's music. The two also collaborated musically on Woodall's latest studio project, the Id Escaped EP, which was recorded with Bittinger and guitarist Mark Lewis at Brooklyn's Junxt Studios. Bittinger sourced the album's artwork from one of his original paintings, and the music video evolved soon after. Regarding the inspiration for the concept behind the video, Woodall said, "I had a series of sequitur dreams where I was escaping a totalitarian regime with all of that surreal imagery. There was espionage and secret taping machines and golden cities and tunnels and I was trying to figure out what or who I was escaping."

Creative Dose :: Vivian Maier

Friday, Friday, Friday!
What does it mean to capture a moment in time? What about when those moments are found without even knowing they were lost? This site was created in dedication to Vivian Maier (1 February 1926 – 21 April 2009).  Vivian, was a french-born street photographer from the 1950s – 1990s, who came to the US in childhood and worked for several years as a nanny in Chicago. Her photographs remained unknown until after her death and were discovered when an estate agent was going through her belongings. These are great snapshots of an era in America and the color work is as impactful as the black and white. vivisanmaier.com

Creative Dose :: Drawing Machine

Hello all. No, we did not take a 3 week vacation over the holidays. We were busy, busy bees these last few weeks. Sit tight for some big launches. In the meantime, here is a creative dose. Welcome back to the world everyone, bring on 2012.

So, for the last thing of the week this year I wanted to pose a conundrum….when is art the whole act of what is being created, or the final product of that creation overall? What?!? More simply is the drawing machine the art or is it the drawing.

Images and video of the machine and the drawings…it's in Danish, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Check it. Cool work guys.
